Administration
of the price regulation and operation of the Northeast Dairy Compact Commission
are not funded by the over-order obligation, but rather by a separate administrative
assessment imposed on all fluid milk processors with sales within the New England regulated area. The
assessment - $0.032 per hundred pounds - was about 2 percent of the total obligation imposed for the
years of 1997-2000. (In 2001, the assessment was reduced to $0.027 per cwt.)
