Obligation/Procurement Price Per Gallon

On the procurement and consumer side, as noted above, the average annual over-order obligation ranged from $0.06 to $0.18 cents per gallon, with an annual average of  $0.116 cents between 1997 and 2000. (Attachment 1b). The 2000 over-order obligation of $0.18 represents roughly 6 percent of the average retail price of milk in Boston in 2000. Attachment 1e shows the average annual procurement cost of Class 1 milk with the compact and the Federal Market Order Class 1 price, and Attachment 1f shows the monthly variation.
